It has been a while

Its has been months since I worked on the car. My wife for Fathers Day bought me a compressor . It seems like I was going to the dentist every time I thought about going out to work on the car. I just did not have any desire to work on it. But all that aside, I signed up for another auto body class and it meets tonight. So wish me luck and pray I find the will to carry on with the project .

We don't only think of MGs.
We like bikes also

The rocker panel is almost in now.
Just weld the bottom and she is in place.
NICE!
We started to weld on the rocker panel
Now we are ready to fit the rocker.
We had to adjust the door first.
We started the sanding on the rear fender.
Found that the car had old body work done .
Check out by the rear light.

Gentleman Jack

More welding on the drivers side before we install the rocker panel.
We also had time for some Gentleman Jack and a cigar.

Metal 2 Metal

We used the Metal 2 Metal filler.
Now with the flat board we find all the high and low spots.
Nice

There was a hole into the cabin. This is my second stab at MIG welding. Not too bad, I only burned through twice. We are getting this area ready for the rocker panel. I just picked up a quart of All-Metal fill. We plan on painting this area and then installing the next flat panel and then the rocker. We are almost there.
Oh, a quart of All-Metal is $30

Repair to front fender low panel

Remember we pulled the driver front fender? Well, the lower part of the fender that covers the rocker panel was also rusted out. So here is the repair to the fender. We also found the head light was all rusted out. I am now putting an order in for a new head light assembly. There is another $70 to add to the list.

Fender and door removed

We are planning to install a complete new rocker panel on the driver's side. We took off the front fender and oh boy did we find more than we thought was there. Look up to the top left of the pic. You will see a patch. There is a rust hole that goes into the engine well. Also look down at the bottom of the pic. You will see another rust hole into the cockpit. Plus we have to replace the lower half of the front fender. Oh well, it's all fun!

Driver side front fender, rocker panel, and dog leg

This is the rear dog leg driver's side. We have cleaned up all the rust and put rust inhibitor on anything that was left. You see the rocker panel has been removed also.
